Thermal history of the Earth’s mantle and the global asthenosphere

© Gordienko V.V.

The thermal history of the Earth’s mantle was analysed, present - day temperatures in non-active regions of the continents and oceans down to ca. 1000 km depth were calculated. The intervals of depth with probable partial melting mantle rocks were defined and among them global asthenosphere at 800-1000 km depth. Geophysical proofs that corroborate the existence of this object are produced.
