The authors propose a new numerical method of determining the pressure and temperature dependence of the thermoelastic constant of rocks that is based on the generalization of the method of the relative moment functions using the Maury-Tonac computational scheme. The numerical results obtained for a peridotite sample by way of the inversion of the P and T dependence of the longitudinally polarized wave velocity agree satisfactorily with the experimental data.
