Kinematic evolution of intrusive rocks of Argentinian Isles (Antarctic Peninsula)

© Orlova M.I.

Based on a paleomagnetic analysis of the Middle Jurassic - Lower Cretaceous intrusive - volcanic rocks, local tectonic deformations have been studed and a scheme of dislocations of crustal blocks in the area of the western coast of the Antarctic Peninsula has (64W, 65S) been reconstructed. The paleoreconstruction allows us to assume that the crustal, blocks w ithin the area considered and which chich characterize the rocks of Middle Jurassic - Early Crefaceous time interval rotated clockwise from 5 to 49 degrees and horizontally SW - wards from 1488 to 9283 m.
