Experiments with torsion pendula and determination of the gravity constant G

© Rokitiansky I.I.

Torsion pendulum makes it the possible to measure rotational moment carried by radiation under investigation and its influence on the elasticity of suspension's filament. Most precise measurements of the gravitational constant G are made with torsion pendulum but the uncertainty achieved is as large as E-4 that is by several orders higher than for other fundamental constants. Probable causes of such situation are discussed.
