On the movement of foci of secular geomagnetic variations and the depth of their sources

Maps of secular variations have been compiled on the basis of some magnetic field components 50 years for the epochs from 1550 to 2000. On a composite map the movement of for Z, X, Y is shown for the whole time. It is shown that when approximating the field by dipoles the latter should be placed in the Earth's core. <<back |
