Process of riftogenesis on an example of the hercynian Dnieper-Donets rift

Deep processes in the Hercynian rift of the Dnieper-Donets Depression (DDD) were discussed from viewpoint of advection - polymorphous hypothesis. On this bases the main events of geological evolution of the basin were prognosed. An analysis of the available data on the crustal and sedimentary layers' thickness, surface movements, sedimentation rate, composition and depths of the DDD magmatism sources demonstrates a full numerical agreement of the prognosed and observed facts. Such an agreement was achieved not only for the DDD itself, but also for the Prypiat' depression and Prypiat' bank where the geological evolution notably differed from that of the basin.
