Carbonate formations as derivatives of gas emanations on the Black Sea floor

Numerous gas fountains and mud volcanoes have been found at the Black Sea floor. The gas emissions, are as a rule, accompanied by carbonate formations, which are genetically connected with them. Types of the carbonate structures, their composition, isotopic data, radiocarbon age, data on active gas emission in time are presented below. The processes of carbonate formation resulted from the degassing of entrails are characteristic for all the Black Sea Basin. <<back |
