Epigenetic alterations of rocks over gas and oil deposits under the influence of diffusion flows of hydrocarbon have been described. The main mechanisms of their development were presented, in particular, it was ascertained that they are typical for all hydrocarbon deposits, but the scale of their development is still varying. The characteristics of their petrophysical features are presented. The multivariational petrophysical models of hydrocarbon deposits are proposed. Some considerations as to rational methods of geophysical investigations including economical-geophysical ones have been proposed.
