Estimation of seismic danger from Vrancea earthquake in the territory of Ukraine

Shaking intensity distribution for Ukrainian areas lacking Vrancea earthquake macro seismic data is evaluated. The Ukrainian territory is regarded as a multiparametric digital image, each pixel of which represents a set member that should be classified to three classes of shaking intensities: background, +1, and -1 grade of MSK-64 scale. Each pixels' vector is formed of parameters that are the physical properties measured and averaged in the corresponding set member. Using the image recognition approach the pessimistic scenario of shaking intensity distribution in Ukraine is presented. <<back |
