Seismomineralogical model of the oceanic upper mantle according to the data of inversion of azimuthal anisotropy of longitudinal waves velocities

A new method of inversion of azimuthal seismic anisotropy into rhombic approximation of elastic constant tensor, concentration and form of mineral grains and function of distribution of mineral orientation is considered. The numerical results of inversion for oceanic upper mantle are demonstrated. It is shown that the seismic anisotropy is generated by crystallographic orientation of olivine and orthopyroxene. The olivine axis a and orthopyroxene axis b is oriented in parallel of maximal seismic velocity.
