Magnetotelluric sounding in the north-eastern margin of Tibet

The data of magnetotelluric sounding and magnetovariational profiling (induction vectors) along a regional profile 900 km long which crosses north-eastern margin of Tibet, Transition zone and stable block Ordos are presented. Under Tibet and Ordos block, a crustal conductive layer has been found which is absent under the Transition zone. There is an active transform fault in the Transition zone and strong earthquakes take place there. <<back |
