Eventual connections between levels of seismic activity in the Vrancea, South Carpathians, (zone V), and in the East Carpathians (zone N) and phases of 11-year cycle of solar and magnetic activity, and also magnetic storms with the sudden beginning have been investigated. Earthquakes of different magnitudes were analyzed within the three time intervals: 1701-2001, 1928-2001 and 1985-2001. More than 85 % of V earthquakes with M>6,7 and N earthquakes with M>4,0 is observed within the limitis of a maximum of 11-years cycle (from -3 up to +3 years from a maximum). Certain confinement of V earthquakes to 11-year maxima has been observed in all the time intervals. Slight increase (of no more than 2 s) in the number of earthquakes in the V zone during the first day and in the N zone during the fifth and seventh days after a magnetic storm with the sudden beginning has been observed. The conclusion about possible existence of the trigger mechanism of influence of phases of 11-year cycle on the levels of seismic activity in the Carpathians and about the need of further investigations in this direction has been made.
