P-velocity structure of the upper mantle of Ukraine was investigated to the depth of 850 km using a new method of seismic tomography developed by V.S. Geyko. Lithosphere layer and the layer of Golitsyna-Geyko have been distinguished. Their heterogeneities in velocity structure correlate with tectonic structure of the earth¢s crust. It has been shown that the velocity structure of the upper mantle below the platform part differs from the velocity structure of young folded surrounding within all the investigated interval of depth down to 850 km. The boundary between portions of the upper mantle with different velocity characteristics projects on the surface with the limits of Scythian plate and Teiseyre-Tornquist line.
