Results of the latest studies of the nature of magnetism of the lower parts of the continental Earth's crust have been given. It has been shown on the base of studies of natural objects, theoretical and experimental data that the main source of continental magnetic anomalies of any classes are magnetite-bearing magmatic rocks produced on the Earth surface or near the surface. In case of submersion to great depth magnetic rocks, as a rule, remain magnetic, non-magnetic remain non-magnetic. Formation of magnetite is possible by crystallization from the melt, recrystallization in situ of formerly existing oxides, as well as from fluid enriched by iron, under conditions of geodynamic regime of tension of the Earth's crust.
