The deepest Kola Borehole (SG-3) and its core are attracting attention of specialists all over the world. The results of national and international projects (IGCP-408 UNESCO, INTAS 01-0314) allowed revealing some phenomena unknown before that manifested themselves both in a massif and in unloaded samples. One of them - tectonocaisson effect - is registered when observing anomalously low velocities of elastic waves and essentially non-linear pattern of their change on application of a load. Another phenomenon unknown before - linear acoustic anisotropic absorption - is widely displayed in virtually all abyssal core samples from SG-3. Deep-seated metamorphosed Proterozoic and Archaean rocks from the SG-3 section are shown to possess high elastic (velocity) anisotropy.
