Ring structures as impact craters - a review

A possibility of penetration of high-speed large-sized ballistic shells through the targets of materials analogous to lithosphere rocks of the Earth has been considered by the method of extrapolating results of ballistic tests up to the necessary limits. The data have been obtained testifying to the possibility of penetration of large-sized high-speed cosmic bodies through the Earth lithosphere up to asthenosphere layers, the mantle and the core as well as the evidences of existence of cause-and-effect relation of such a kindsuch a kind of collisions with the observed geological structures of ring type and different age. <<back |
