Magnetoelastic effects in chromite-bearing rocks of Pados-Tundra massif (the Kola Peninsula)

Local magnetic heterogeneities of Pados-tundra massif and their nature have been investigated. The variation of the rock remanent magnetization in response to acoustic waves in the range from 25 kHz to 10 MHz has been studied. It has been found for the first time that the remanent magnetization and its direction vary according to oscillation frequency and magnetic condition of rocks. The obtained results are of interest in development of nonlinear geophysics problems and the estimation of technogenic and natural magnetic anomalies. <<back |
