Love head waves and some of their properties

This article presents the experiment, in which, the Rayleigh head wave has been revealed for the first time in seismologic practice. The results of Love head wave identification experiment carried out in following years are also described. For this purpose in seismic-modeling experiment one of two contiguous quarter-spaces (low velocity one) was full-height cut in half. While positioning ultrasonic source and receiver on the both sides of slot on model surface Love head wave has been registered and identified for the first time in seismologic practice. <<back |
