Main directions of the department activities:

• - creation of new methods, tools and techniques for determining the petrophysical parameters of oil and gas reservoirs while drilling and in the section of cased boreholes (including through tubing);
• - creation of new apparatus-methodical complexes for logging-while-drilling in vertical, inclined and horizontal oil-and-gas boreholes;
• - creation of new apparatus-methodical complexes for logging in cased oil-and-gas wells, incl. for revision of old boreholes;
• - development of new geophysical technologies for investigation of sections of oil-and-gas and other wells through steel casing pipes;
• - improvement and use of the technology of geophysical well logging of near-surface rocks at real objects in connection with engineering-geological problems, incl. seismic microzoning, and in connection with environmental problems;
• - development of new approaches to the integrated interpretation of geological and geophysical data using mathematical models, which adapted to the structural features of specific hydrocarbon fields;
• - development and progress of computer interpretation of geophysical fields (gravity, magnetic and electromagnetic) for the problems of prospecting and exploration of oil and gas deposits, the creation of computer programs and technologies;
• - interpretation of magnetometry and gravimetry data, which obtained at oil and gas fields in Ukraine, and testing of created computer technologies for problem solving of oil and gas geophysics.

The Department carries out following research and development projects:

1. State budget applied research project (2021 - 2023)
